I recently visited Chennai for an International conference and decided to stay at Tambaram, especially to indulge in authentic Chettinad culinary experience. A few dining sessions later, I felt the need to visit a dentist and be in top dental shape before the keynote session I was to deliver at the conference. Having come from Dubai, to be honest, my expectations weren’t too high from dentists in Chennai when compared to the facilities we have back in Dubai.
A few google searches later, I stumbled upon Dr Jacob’s Dentacare and I was happy that I paid them a visit. I was wowed by their hospitality and above all quality dental care that was on offer. Dr Jacob and his team were top-notch, right from making me understand the nuances of dental hygiene, what routines I could follow and all the way to giving me a brief of the procedure to follow. For a moment, I thought I was at a dental clinic back home in Dubai, such was the quality of treatment. I wish Dr Jacob and his team the very best and recommend them for whosoever needs not only a great dentist but a bunch of cool friends back there.

Last month when I was required to do a dental procedure for my 10-year-old son, I was a bit hesitant to take him to just ‘any’ dental clinic. When I think about a dental clinic, the image that comes to the mind was that of a hapless victim lying helplessly on a dentist’s chair. Masked doctors, ruthlessly plucking out the teeth! The image was that of a doctor with an Einsteinian-look churning out incomprehensible medical jargon- adding to the agony of the patient.
However, all of these perceptions changed over-night after I had a chance to visit Dr Jacob’s Dentacare. Here I was able to experience THE dental clinic who knows what dental care is. Painless procedures, impeccably clean ambience and empathetic handling supported by state of art equipment’s. Here what I experienced was not a one-sided monologue or a boring medical lecture, but a compassionate doctor giving you a patient hearing and explaining every aspect of the medical situation that he is in, in his language!… with a reassuring smile.

A visit to the dentist is dreaded for all – or that’s what is the popular norm. At the Dr Jacob’s Dentacare, they certainly challenge the popular norm, so much so we now believe it is a “friendly neighbourhood”.
I wish them all success and believe they will keep up and raising the benchmarks they have set for themselves.
My daughter was treated by Dr Jacob – was a challenge for him as well as us. Today she walks confidently with the perfect 28 (she is yet to turn wise as per the count of her teeth!)
